MANATUTO, September 25^th, 2024—The team of the TIMOR I.P. Agency provided Electronic Government Sensitization entitled "Revolutionizing Government with Digitization Services in an Accessible Way in order to Promote Good Governance in Improving Government Service Delivery" to the employees at ministerial line level in the Municipality of Manatuto including Local Authority representatives. The main objective of this sensitization is to promote digitalization services in relation to Electronic Government.

At the opening of the sensitization, the Director of the Information and Application System Development Directorate (DDSIA Portuguese Acronym) of TIC TIMOR, Mr. Justo Fernandes, highlighted that this awareness will carry out presentation related to the main services regarding Electronic Government, considering that TIC TIMOR is an implementing Agency of the IX Constitutional Government program related to Information and Communication Technology.

TIC TIMOR in cooperation with the Comissão da Função Pública (CFP) and INAP will conduct necessary preparations for next year based on the IX Constitutional Government program regarding the capacity building particularly in the areas of technology for all public employees all over the national territory of Timor-Leste, including those at Director level.

This sensitization is considered important as it aims to identify on how far the knowledge of employees in all municipalities in the national territory, before implementing the program.

The Director of the DSIA further explained that the important role of TIC TIMOR is in accordance with the terms set out in decree law number 29/2017 on the implementation of the Information and Communication Technology policy, thus, in this sensitization there are 5 important points in which TIC TIMOR is going to present which consists of; Timor Digital, Application System developed by TIC TIMOR, Network Infrastructure, Data Center and Cyber ​​Security.

The sensitization carried out by TIC TIMOR is based on the program of the IX Constitutional Government provided for in terms of number 2.8 regarding Information and Communication Technology (ICT) and 6.7 on the Electronic Government of the program of the IX Constitutional Government attributed to TIC TIMOR as an important mission and imperative to be executed.

Through the two programs mentioned above, TIC TIMOR will identify how far the level of knowledge of all employees, thus being able to work in cooperation with INAP and CFP in the preparation of materials necessary for the implementation of training in the areas of technology next year" highlighted the Director.

On the same occasion, the Secretary of PDIEM Affairs Ms. Domingas Gilpia da Costa Soares expressed her appreciation for the availability of TIC TIMOR in providing this sensitization related to Electronic Government with the aim in improving the capacity and knowledge of the employees aimed to facilitate the implementation of the services mission that will greatly help the access of information in its services.

The Secretary appealed all participants to take advantage of the opportunity of this sensitization, with a view to improving employees' knowledge on how to implement the Electronic Government.

Meanwhile, sensitization was carried out at the Municipal Administration of Manatuto and was attended by representatives from CFP and INAP.
