TIC TIMOR I.P. AGENCY HELD ELECTRONIC GOVERNMENT SENSITIZATION IN MUNICIPALITY OF LAUTÉM


LAUTÉM, October 7th, 2024 — The team from TIC TIMOR I.P. Agency held a sensitization session on Electronic Government for government employees of the  ministerial line in Lautém Municipality, together with representatives of the local authority.

The main objective of this sensitization is to promote digital services as part of Electronic Government initiatives.

During the opening of the sensitization, the Director of the Directorate for Development of Information Systems and Applications (DDSIA Portuguese acronym) Mr. Justo Fernandes, emphasized that, through this sensitization, will also be presented the main services related to Electronic Government, considering that the TIC TIMOR Agency becomes as the implementing agency of the IX Constitutional Government.

TIC TIMOR in collaboration with the “Comissão de Função Pública” (CFP Portuguese acronym) and INAP (Portuguese acronym) will carry out preparations for the capacity building of the next year based on the program of the IX Constitutional Government, related to training in the area of ​​technology for public employees throughout the national territory of Timor-Leste, including those of the director level.

This sensitization is considered extremely important before the implementation of the program, thus, be able to identify the knowledge of employees in all municipalities.

The Director of the DSIA highlighted that, under the terms of Decree-Law number 29/2017, assigned the TIMOR TIC Agency the important role in the implementation of the Information and Communication Technology policy. Therefore, during the sensitization, there are five important points in which will be presented, such as: Digital Timor, Application Systems developed by TIC TIMOR itself, Network Infrastructure, including Data Center and Cybersecurity.

The sensitization program of the TIC TIMOR is based on the IX Government Constitutional agenda, particularly stipulated in number 2.8, related to the Information and Communication Technology, and number 6.7, focuses on Electronic Government.

Based on these two programs, TIC TIMOR will evaluate the knowledge level of the public employees, thus, be able to collaborate with INAP and CFP in order to prepare materials which will be able to build the capacity and enhancing technological skills in the coming year,” explained the Director of DSIA.

On the same occasion, the President of the Lautem Municipal Authority, Mr. Melio de Jesus conveyed his gratitude to TIC TIMOR for the initiative to conduct the sensitization on the Electronic Government in the municipality of Lautém.

I am delighted to appeal all public employees to take full advantage of this opportunity, as Timor-Leste, having gained its independence during 22 years, therefore, we have to be able to adjust to the advanced technologies in order to improve the public services.

Meanwhile, the sensitization was conducted at the Municipality Administration of Lautém and was participated by representatives of the CFP and INAP.
