COVALIMA, October 15, 2024 — The team from the TIC TIMOR I.P. Agency conducted sensitization on Electronic Government for the employees from the ministerial line in the Municipality of Covalima, along with representatives of local authorities.

The main objective of this sensitization is to promote digital services in the context of Electronic Government.

At the opening, the Director of the TIC TIMOR Data Center, Mr. Rusmin Vicente de Fátima Soares, emphasized that, the important role of the TIC TIMOR Agency as outlined in decree-law number 29/2017 for implementing information and communication technology policies. In this sensitization, five key points will be addressed, they are: Timor Digital, Application Systems developed by TIC TIMOR, Network Infrastructure, Data Center and Cybersecurity.

This sensitization program of TIC TIMOR is based on the IX Constitutional Government program, which has been outlined in point 2.8 regarding Information and Communication Technology and point 6.7 concerning Electronic Government.

Through this sensitization, will be presented key services related to Electronic Government, considering that TIC TIMOR is designated as the implementing agency for the IX Constitutional Government program.

"TIC TIMOR, in collaboration with the Comissão de Função Pública (CFP) and INAP, will carry out preparations for the upcoming year based on the IX Constitutional Government program, focusing on technology capacity building for public employees all over the Timor-Leste, including those at the director level."

This sensitization is considered extremely important before starting the implementation of the program, as it will allow for the identification of employees' knowledge in all municipalities.

Through these two programs, TIC TIMOR will assess the knowledge level of employees; thus, it will be able to work in cooperation with the CFC and INAP to make the necessary preparations to develop the capacity building in technology areas for the next year," emphasized the Director of the Data Center.

On the same occasion, the acting Authority President, Mr. Caitano dos Santos Ribeiro, stated that, the services of the Electronic Government will greatly facilitate public administration services.

Therefore, employees should pay close attention to this sensitization, thus, they would able to better understand the Electronic Government services. By this way, when they participate in next year's capacity building, they will already have general knowledge of the ICT areas.
